From where do we get out colour inspiration? I get mine from the things around me(plants, buildings, chipped paint on a rundown house, some Atlantan with killer style.) Colour impulses are logged into the brain and determine what we gravitate toward especially in fashion decisions.

I love Pantone.com as they are always on top of things. They cover fashion as well as seasonal and home recommendations.

Here are some insights on the colour palettes that are on the runway for Spring/Summer 2012.

Peter Som

Rose Violets are his colour for SS 2012. Feminine and Flirty but classic.

NAHM is focusing on ‘Sea-Foam’ for 2012, probably one of my favorite colours, coupled with a pale yellow. Taking their inspiration from Laos in the 70s.

Must have according to NAHM : A dropped waist gathered shirt dress that is mixed with a few combinations of prints in Sea-Foam, multi-color zig zag print and Buttery Yellow diamond print.

Ella Moss (her official website is horrible- check out this link to see her SS collection,)  her SS 2012 collection represents bright yellows with soft grey and as she calls it “Liquid Caribbean Green.”

Ella Moss’ Must Have : Ella Moss midi Green dress — it has the perfect hint of femininity for spring — it’s easy and playful but also has an elevated sense of casualness
